Maya Bushnaq

Maya Bushnaq is an Intern at the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT), based in its headquarters in Barcelona.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from IE University in Madrid. Her thesis analysed the realisation of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination under international law. Previously, Maya was a Legal Research Intern at the European Legal Support Center (ELSC) in Amsterdam, where she conducted research on the repression of Palestinian advocacy in Europe and the UK, and supported the legal team in providing support to individuals facing violations of their freedom of speech.

She also spent three months as a Management Intern at Sawiyan, a grassroots advocacy NGO for marginalised communities in Jordan, interviewing refugees and asylum seekers and reporting on cases to the Office Manager.
