Process Design for Secret Negotiations
The Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) is pleased to announce Process Design for Secret Negotiations, the latest webinar within our 10 Peacebuilding Innovations series.
When seeking a negotiated solution to an armed conflict or political crisis, the parties involved will often have recourse to secret talks, especially at the outset. Drawing on IFIT’s pioneering research publication on the topic – and premised on the conviction that secrecy is sometimes a sine qua non for talks of any kind to take place between governments, opposition parties and/or non-state armed groups – this short webinar will examine the key concepts and recommendations for the effective design of secret peace talks.
