Bridging Community Solutions and National Policy: A Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue

Last spring, IFIT concluded phase one of its “Promoting Bottom Up Dialogue” initiative in Zimbabwe with a national multi-stakeholder dialogue, bringing together community members, parliamentarians, local authorities, youth, persons with disabilities, faith leaders, and creatives.
The event capped off three regional dialogues and provided an opportunity to pilot strategies drawn from grassroots discussions. Together, we examined how locally generated solutions align with national policy priorities.
The next phase of this initiative will greatly strengthen the linkages between and amongst leading community dialogue practitioners in different parts of the country, as well as improving links with national level actors. In addition, issue-based dialogues will be scaled up and a pilot project tested.
