Anna Simon Serra is an intern with the Regional Programme for Latin America and the
Caribbean at IFIT, where she works on research and comparative analysis of peace,
security, and democratic governance. Her academic and professional trajectory has focused
on human rights, forced displacement, and the political and legal dimensions of conflict and
democratic governance.
Anna holds a BA in Law and Global Development from SOAS University of London and is
currently contributing to a research project on intersectionality and human rights law at
King’s College London. She previously worked with UNHCR in London on legal and policy
research related to international refugee protection and asylum systems, and has field
experience supporting migrant communities in both Europe and Latin America.
Originally from Barcelona, Anna has lived in Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United
Kingdom, and has conducted fieldwork in Mexico. These experiences have informed her
interest in comparative political analysis and governance challenges in fragile and conflict-
affected contexts.
