María Alejandra Fonseca Manosalva

María Alejandra Fonseca Manosalva is a Consultant at the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT). She is based in the Bogotá office, where she supports IFIT’s work in Colombia, as well as the Inclusive Narratives Practice Group and the Transition Assistance Practice Group.

María Alejandra holds degrees in Law and Political Science from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. She has also taken courses on international law, human rights, transitional justice, gender studies, and migration policy at Chung-Ang University in South Korea.

Before joining IFIT, María Alejandra worked at the Legal Clinic for Migrants at the Universidad de los Andes, providing legal assistance to low-income individuals facing immigration-related challenges. She has published research on electoral law, political parties, and the Colombian Peace Agreement, with a particular interest in the relationship between legal and institutional frameworks, democratic representation, and peacebuilding in Colombia.
